Fundraising In the Community

On a Friday afternoon in June, high above Melbourne at the stunning RACV Club, an incredible lunch was held in support of Bayley House. The event brought together over 400 people who gathered to show their support and make a difference for this worthy cause.

The lunch kicked off with a memorable moment as our very own Charlie confidently delivered the Acknowledgement of Country, setting a tone of respect and inclusivity.

Throughout the course of the afternoon, the event was brilliantly emceed by Russell Fletcher, who effortlessly engaged the guests and kept the energy levels high. The attendees had the opportunity to participate in various activities, including raffles and a wine lottery, adding an element of excitement and anticipation to the occasion.

However, the highlight of the event was undoubtedly the live auction. As bids flew back and forth, the room erupted with enthusiasm as guests passionately vied to outbid each other. The competitive spirit was infectious, and it was wonderful to witness the commitment and generosity of those in attendance.

In addition to the exhilarating live auction, the audience was treated to a captivating one-on-one interview with the legendary Socceroos hero and Australian icon, John Aloisi. John graciously shared his time and insights, engaging in a lively conversation with Russell and even fielding questions from a few enthusiastic fans in the audience. His dedication and passion for the game were palpable, particularly as he recounted the exhilarating moment of scoring the goal that propelled Australia to their first-ever World Cup.

The success of the lunch was truly remarkable, with a grand total of $160,000 raised for Bayley House. This outstanding achievement is a testament to the unwavering support and generosity of the attendees. Over the years, the Ian Hyman Charity Luncheon has made a tremendous impact, raising over $600,000 for Bayley House and enabling the organisation to implement various programs that benefit the clients.

The organisers and participants of the event can be immensely proud of their contribution to Bayley House. Their efforts have made a significant difference to the clients of Bayley House. The spirit of unity and support showcased during the lunch serves as a powerful reminder of the incredible things that can be achieved when people come together for a common cause.

We have an enormous list of people to thank for supporting this event and while they were all acknowledged in the event booklet on the day, we would like to further highlight the contributions of the following people and their teams:

Thank you to all of our sponsors and their donations. A big thank you to Simon James Photography, a relatively new supporter of Bayley House, who donated his time and incredible photography on the day.

It is so wonderful to be the Melbourne recipient of the Ian Hyman Charity lunch. This lunch connects Bayley House to a vast network of supporters who so generously give their time and donations to raise much needed funds. It may have only just wrapped up but we can’t wait for next years event, which will celebrate 10 years!
