Taste & Create: Bayley House’s Community Cookbook Launch Event

Around Bayley Bayley Arts

Cooking is one of the most popular programs we offer at Bayley House only second to art. What happened when decided to combine the programs? The Community Cookbook was born!

Over 18 months, the cookbook group came together create art on theme of food and cooking. Fuelled by their passion for food and art, the idea of a cookbook was developed. We also owe a big thank you to our supporters in the community, recipe contributors, arts facilitators and the Bayside City Council for their involvement and financial support.

We had a special visit from Mayor Hanna El Mouallem, along with his mother-in-law, Shamis and his daughter, Jess. They joined our cookbook group to share a treasured family recipe – Tabouli! This was a fantastic way to celebrate food, culture, and community.

Hanna will also be joining us at the ‘Community Cookbook Launch & Around the Table Exhibition’ where he will be officially opening the event. This is sure to be a wonderful night celebration food, art and creativity. Come along, purchase a copy of the book and maybe even try some of the recipes for yourself!
