The Good Guys Brighton

Living up to their name ‘The Good Guys Brighton’ have nominated Bayley House to be their partner in a unique national community relations program.
The Good Guys National Cause program, which was launched in November 2006, sees each of the 72 stores across Australia partnered with a local community organisation. The aim of the program is to help to raise funds and support for a charity within their local area. Run in partnership with United Way, a national network of not-for-profit organisations, the program has already raised $340,000 nationally and is expected to generate more than $750,000 over twelve months.
Simon Burgess, Manager of The Good Guys Brighton has had a long association with Bayley House and has assisted us with the purchase of electrical items for our residential houses and day service programs on many occasions.
As part of the program, The Good Guys Brighton will donate 20 cents from every transaction to Bayley House. Simon hopes that the amount raised will exceed $15,000 over the twelve months from July 2007-July 2008.
The money raised will be used to fund the design and landscaping of a new garden area for our Lubrano Street residence. As CEO Peter Lee says “Currently the backyard is bare dirt and the front yard is overgrown. Our residents have nowhere to entertain family and friends who visit, or to just relax in the outdoors. This new area will provide a great area for socializing and make a real difference to the lifestyle of those living in the house.”
The tally so far:
July 07- September 07: $3,386
Simon Burgess and his staff are committed to assisting Bayley House to raise funds and increase awareness of our organisation and intellectual disability.
