Recreation Program
The Bayley House Recreation program has been developed to provide an extensive range of entertaining and affordable weekly activities for people within our Residential Service. The programs are based on the individual interests and needs of the residents, and in consultation with residential services staff.
During the holidays the program is extended to include people within our ATSS. This program provides access to the community for an average of sixty people per holiday program through activities such as sports, music, theatre, art and community events. As most of our activities are based outside of Bayley House this program provides an important link for people to develop interests and relationships with others in the community.
We use Bayley House vehicles to access the community and this allows for our preference of working with small groups of people. Unfortunately, it also means that we are unable to cater for everyone that applies to join our program. As we have only one vehicle with a wheelchair hoist, it also limits our capacity to include people who require wheelchair assistance. We endeavour to overcome these challenges by having a backup procedure wherein we attempt to allocate places to a wide scope of applicants.
