Friday Night Games
Each Game is played for 30 minutes and can start from 6.30pm up to 8.30pm start on a Friday night for the Baysiders teams. There is a cost of $3.20 per player which is paid at the door on the night by each player. There is also a $1.00 charge for spectators. There are approximately 250 players playing in 33 teams making up the five divisions every Friday night.
Each team will play about 15 to 16 games with 4 to 5 byes in a twenty week season. There are then three Friday night finals in October: Semi Final, Preliminary Final and Grand Final.
On the first Friday of December each year the competition hosts a presentation night and BBQ dinner for all teams and volunteers. All players must attend the night to receive a medal or trophy.
Players are transported to the game by Bayley House. Parents, family members or friends are asked to assist with transport. We only need one bus driver and two people to drive their car each Friday night. A transport run sheet is given out to every player on the Wednesday after practice. This sheet has player addresses, person responsible for pick up and the time each player will be picked up. Players need to be at the venue 20 minutes before their game.
If a player has an earlier game, we ask that they stay and support their other teammates. Sometimes both teams will play at the same time on different courts. After the games, players get together and enjoy a sausage sizzle, drinks and tea or coffee for a small cost per item.
