Santa's Workshop a hit!
1st of February 2008
On December 17 more than 600 people attended the annual Bayley House Christmas Carols Concert held at Brighton Grammar School.
The concert featured the theme of ‘Santa’s Workshop’ and told a story of Santa and his helpers making last minute preparations on Christmas Eve so that all gifts are wrapped, lollies packed and the sleigh is laden. To do this, the 45 cast members of the Allstar Theatre Company performed more than 20 well known Christmas Carols such Rudolph, Silent Night and Santa Claus is coming to town.
Many of those that attended return year after year for this unique event and as one person described it, “Christmas doesn’t begin until you’ve been to the carols for Bayley House”.
“The night is magical” says Peter Lee, CEO of Bayley House. “Both the audience and our performers gain so much from the concert. Just like any other members of a theatre company, the Allstars enjoy performing in front of a live audience and gain great satisfaction and enjoyment from being involved in a popular production.”
Director of the Allstar Theatre Company, Leonie Fraser agrees with Peter but adds “What is most important for the audience is that they actively participate and at the end of the night, they see the performer, not the disability.”
Thank you to the Bayley Birds who provided supper and all those who assisted on the night. Overall more than $16,000 was raised.
