Rotary Club of Brighton raises over $20,000 for Bayley House
23rd of May 2007
The members of the Rotary Club of Brighton hit a ‘hole-in-one’ for Bayley House on Monday 14 May when they held their annual Charity Golf Day at Spring Valley Golf Club.More than 90 golfers took to the greens for 18 holes of golf followed by a three course dinner, raffle and auction. Overall, the Golf Day raised a total of nearly $22,000 for Bayley House.
This amount of money could not have been raised without the organisation skills of Graeme Wallace, who coordinated the day and the assistance of the major sponsors, RTP Financial Services. Through their affiliation with AMP, RTP Finances were able to secure a commitment from the AMP Foundation to match the amount of funds raised on a dollar for dollar basis (up to $10,000).
Earlier this year Rotary Club of Brighton approached Peter Lee, CEO to let him know their members had nominated Bayley House to be the beneficiary of their Golf Day. Many members were aware of the work that Bayley House performs in the local Brighton community and wanted to support the organisation.
The funds raised by the Golf Day will be used to purchase and fit a new wheelchair hoist to the newest bus in the Bayley House transport fleet. Transportation of people in wheelchairs will be more efficient and greater numbers can be accommodated at one time. It will also give greater flexibility when organising excursions and outings.
Bayley House would like to thank all the members of the Rotary Club and all the sponsors for their wonderful efforts and support. A fantastic result indeed!
