New Travel Pass
11th of August 2009
A new travel pass for Victorians with a disability who can travel independently on public transport but can not use the ticketing systems due to difficulties with utlising ticketing machines or barriers.
It is anticipated that the new Access Travel pass will be introduced around September to coincide with the introduction of myki, the new Metlink ticketing system.
Pass holders will be entitled to travel free on metropolitan and regional trains, trams and buses when they carry their Travel Access Pass.
To apply for a Travel Access Pass, applicants will need to complete an application form and provide relevant supportive documentation. All apllications will be reviewed by an independent panel set up by the Deptartment of Transport.
Application forms for the Access Travel Pass will be administered by the Metlink Central Pass Office and be available from the office or from www.metlinkmelbourne.com.au in September.
