Helping to 'Brighton Up Bayley'
26th of July 2007
Beachside Brighton came to Bayley House on Friday 20 July when ten volunteers from Fuji Xerox put their creative skills to the test and worked with nine of our people to paint a large mural on one of the main walls in the gymnasium area.
Aiming to ‘Brighton Up’ Bayley House, and give inspiration to those completing a workout, the mural carries a seaside theme and features the infamous Brighton Beachboxes. Thanks to their efforts the wall is now colourful and bright and offers a fabulous image to look at whilst exercising.
Several calico screens that are used throughout Bayley House were also painted and are equally as inspiring. The colourful images they now display will certainly add a cheerful element to the room in which they are being used.
All those from Bayley House who took part in the ‘Brighton Up Bayley’ project are budding artists and regulars in our Art program. Each of them volunteered to be involved and enjoyed working with everyone from Fuji-Zerox. As Natalie, one of the participants said,
“It is great, I smile every time I see what I have painted on the wall.”
Fuji-Xerox State Sales team leader, Neill Patterson took part in the activity and summed the experience up beautifully.
“I chose to be involved in this project because I wanted to be of help and bring a smile or two to some new faces. Little did I realise how much all of us would gain from the day. It was an absolutely sensational experience and I left in awe of the people we worked with. Their smiling faces really lit up my insides.”
A big thank you to the team from Fuji-Xerox for their help.
