Bayley House receives a grant from the National Seniors Foundation
7th of September 2007
Representatives from the National Seniors Foundation and the Caulfield & District Branch of the National Seniors were given a warm Bayley House welcome when they visited us for morning tea on Friday 31 August. After joining in on the community singing program, Mr Mark Furness, General Manager of the National Seniors Foundation spoke briefly about the many ways in which they help people over the age of 50 years and assist organisations that support older Australians. The National Seniors Foundation Community Grants program offers funding for projects that help to improve the lives of seniors.
Bayley House was successfully nominated by the Caulfield & Districts Branch of the National Seniors to receive such a grant. The funding will purchase equipment and white goods that will be used to train our older people with the skills they need to be able to live more independently.
Bayely House CEO, Mr Peter Lee was presented with a cheque for $4000 by Caulfield Branch President, Mr Steve Jacobs in a special presentation on Friday. More than $532,000 was donated to 365 community projects across Australia as part of the Community Grant program. The grant received by Bayley House was the second highest amount donated to an individual project.
Bayle House is extremely appreciative of the grant and would like to thank the National Seniors Foundation and the members of the Caulfield Branch for their support.
