Coles Bay Street donates $10,000 to Bayley House

Staff from the Coles Bay St store hosted a celebratory morning tea on Tuesday July 12 to present a cheque for $10,000 to Bayley House.

The donation was the culmination of a lot of hard work and effort by the staff team at the store over the past financial year. Funds were raised through a variety of activities including raffles, sausage sizzles, cake & biscuit bakes and even a cocktail party and 10 km walk-a-thon. It was a fantastic team effort and one that was possible due to the committment of the staff and the generosity of local shoppers.

Customer Service Manager Rita Heaton has been a driving force behind the store's fundraising activities. "It’s so heart-warming to see our staff and the local community here in Brighton get behind Bayley House," said Rita “Adult disability is often overlooked from a charitable perspective yet it has a huge impact on members of our community."

When receiving the cheque from Store Manager, Illias Vlamis, Bayley House CEO, Bruce Salvin, thanked the staff and congratulated them on their efforts. The store has been supporting Bayley House since it opened in 2013 and in three years has donated just over $16,000 towards our services and programs.

“This year, Bayley House celebrates its 65th anniversary and we rely on the generosity of individuals and groups in our local community to help us continue to provide a high quality support service to over 200 adults with an intellectual disability and their families." said Bruce "We want to thank the team members of the Coles Bay St store, and commend their drive behind their fundraising for Bayley House,"
